Beans For A Crowd
One of the required sides for a traditional barbecue meal is beans. I occasionally cook for groups, and these are what I've been serving lately. They are simple and easy to make, but they pack huge flavor. They're thick and rich with a great balance of sweet, savory, and tangy. Another great thing about these beans is that they are a great base for adding all manner of other delicious ingredients.

Beans On Bread
Did I mention that I love beans? I do, and here is one of my favorite lazy meals that I fancied up a bit last night because the leftover planets were all in alignment. My normal beans on bread typically amounts to some baked beans dumped on some bread and doused with hot sauce of an appropriate variety. On occasion I'll go the beanie weenie route. This time I'm going top-shelf with some leftover tri-tip from Sunday night, some new beans, and sauteed onions and peppers.

Beef Cheddar & Portabella Stromboli
Beef, mushrooms and cheese are a great combination. This stromboli builds on these basic flavors with sauteed portabellas, bourbon-caramelized onions, smoked black pepper white cheddar, broccoli, and a little garlic. I know that it might seem like a lot of work, but it's really not as complicated as it appears. I assure you that it's well worth the effort.
