Corn Chowder
I don't know what kind of winter weather you're experiencing in your neck of the woods, but ours has been brutally cold for nearly a month. It's the kind of cold that reminds me of my Air Force days in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. OK, it's not really that bad, but it is the kind of cold that calls for a nice hot bowl of hearty soup. Corn chowder is a beautiful and glorious thing. It's rich, thick, creamy, and of course corny, with just a hint of bacon. What's not to like?

Cornbread & Cranberry Stuffed and Grilled Chops
This recipe was an experiment that turned into a serious keeper. The great folks at Oh! Nuts were kind enough to send me some of their quality wares and I developed this recipe in an effort to feature their sweetened dried cranberries. I take product endorsements very seriously, and this company has some of the nicest dried fruit and nuts that I've come across. I am still nursing my way through the bag of salted cashews and dried mangos. I feel a couple more recipes coming on.

County Fair Onion Burgers
It's that time of year. The time in late summer when fairs are in full-swing all across America. Sure, it's fun to go see the animals, hit the cheesy rides, and people watch, but let's face it, most folks go to spend too much money on incredibly unhealthy yet delicious food. Each year I'm amazed at what the fair food purveyors are slinging. I think that if your wares can be fried, dipped, frozen, roasted, served in a cup, on a stick or in some form of bread, you're approved to vend.
